Anambra Teaching on Air Programme introduced by the Ministry of Basic Education in conjunction with the Anambra Braodcasting Service is still attracting commendations from individuals within and outside the state.

Education correspondent, Theophilus Ukoha interacted with some of them and reports that the Rector Anambra state Polytechnic Mgbakwu in Awka-North Local Government Area, Dr Nneka Mefor said the programme has been filling the gaps in learning for both primary and secondary school children in the state.

She commended Anambra state government for allowing the programme since resumption of school is not yet in sight and however requested that its extension to students of Tertiary Institutions in the state.
Mrs Chinwe Nweke, Director Integrated Development Konsul, IDK, Awka in a reaction said the introduction of the programme is in line with international standard of education as it is often used to close the gap between the school and home teaching methodology.

She commended the Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha who took the bull by the horn to make sure the closure of schools as a result of COVID-19 pandemic did not stall academic programme in the state.

On their parts, the principal of Igwebuike Grammar School, Awka, Mr Jovita Arazu and his Capital City Secondary School Awka counterpart, Mrs Adaora Adibe, said hence resumption of schools is still not insight, parents should encourage their wards to key into the programme to keep them busy during this coronavirus lockdown.
