In order to ensure lasting peace in Omor and Umumbo communities who recently had a communal clash, the leadership of Omambala Youth Forum has visited the two communities to find ways of brokering peace between the two communities.
The forum which was led by its President General, Prince Innocent Offordile met with all the relevant stakeholders of the two communities, including Youths and the elderly.
Speaking in both communities, Prince Offordile said that Omambala Youth Forum was initiated to ensure harmonious coexistence among Omambala people, as well as an avenue for dialogue in case of any eventuality.
Prince Offordile who regretted the crisis which he described as avoidable, appealed to the two communities to give peace a chance as Governor Willie Obiano’s administration desires peace and unity in all the communities of the state and assured them that government will do all they can to amicably resolve the crisis so that it won’t occur again.
For the Vice President, Omambala Youth Forum, Chief Boniface Ilegbunam, tangible development can never occur in any Community that is not peaceful as he appealed to both communities to sheat their swords and start living like brothers that they are.
In their various remarks, Chief Johnson Ifejika from Omor and Innocent Ezuo from Umumbo, thanked the leadership of the Forum for their brotherly visit and assured that they will embrace dialogue, peace and unity henceforth as demanded by the Forum, describing the crisis as highly unfortunate.
Omambala Youth Forum is made up of Anambra East and West, Oyi and Ayamelum Local Government Areas.
