Federal Road Safety Commission has called for collaboration with the state government on establishing mobile court to prosecute violators of COVID-19 protocols.
Disclosing this during an ABS audience participatory programme, the Public Education Officer, FRSC Route Commander, Anietie Ekpo, said the fight against the virus should be the responsibility of all.
Saying that social distancing is an approach to contain the scourge, Route Commander Ekpo expressed their readiness to ensure that motorists who contravene the rules are meant to face the full weight of the law.
Route Commander, Ekpo, who identified information dissemination among communities as a panacea in curtailing the pandemic urged citizens to take responsibility of been a life saver, by reporting any individual with likely symptoms.
Contributing, the Deputy Education Officer of the Command, Route Commander Jonathan Anan, assured that the Agency will sustain robust sensitization and enlightenment with park operators, motorists and commuters on the need for total compliance.
Speaking on community spread of the virus, he advised transporters to align with the state government efforts towards bringing the virus at a standstill in the state.
