The Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties and Public
Orientation, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, has urged parents to re-strategize and
intensify efforts in proper child upbringing to enable them attain
their life goals.

Mrs. Obinabo, who disclosed this in her goodwill message to mark this
year’s Children’s Day celebration, described it, as a special day
mapped out for the promotion of child’s right as well as celebrating
children as gift and treasures to humanity.

Encouraging children not to lose hope and focus because the
celebration was low key due to the ravaging effort of global COVID 19
pandemic, Mrs. Obinabo acknowledged that the present day situation is
a trial period for all.

She reminded parents of the need for qualitative education and
inculcation of morals and family values, advised them on adaptation to
online teaching.

Mrs. Obinabo challenged parents to utilize the rare privileged and get
them involved through assignments and home lessons.

The Special Adviser who observed that the lockdown period has afforded
opportunity for parental bonding cautioned against destruction of
child’s overall development by leaving them at the mercy of care
givers.
