The Wife of the Transition Committee Chairman, Nnewi North Council Area Princess Chinelo Orizu, has distributed palliatives consisting of food items, cash gift and COVID-19 preventive materials to the downtrodden in the ten political wards of the Council Area.

The palliative which targeted mostly the women was to assist the state government in alleviating the plight of the less privileged ones within her reach.

Among the items distributed through the party ward women leaders include, twenty thousand naira per ward, five cartons of noodles and ten bags of rice to each ward.

Other items given to each ward include twenty-five pieces of protective face mask, and five bottles of hand sanitizer.

Addressing the gathering in Nnewi, Princess Chinelo Orizu who is the wife of the Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi North Council Area, Prince Chukwudi Orizu regretted the hardship on the account of COVID-19 and called for more support from other well meaning Ndi Nnewi to enable the less privileged ones survive this hard time.

She reminded the people of Nnewi North the need to abide by the COVID-19 preventive guidelines as stipulated by the state government and World Health Organization.

Appreciating the benefactor, the Nnewi North APGA Woman Leader, Mrs. Felicia Achusim and the Otolo Ward Two Woman Leader, Mrs. Uche Ejiofor who described the gesture as timely, assured to distribute the items according to the directives.

They pledged to support the state government’s campaign on COVID-19 by taking the message regarding preventive guidelines down to the grassroots.

The Transition Committee Chairman, Nnewi North Council Area, Prince Chukwudi Orizu other critical stake among holders were present at the event.
