The family house of Ezeagha in Ifiteani Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area was yesterday thronged by mourners, following the death of aged woman of over eighty years, who lost her life, following alleged scuffle with Anti cult operatives that raided her family compound.

According to Mr. Sunday Dimagha, around four AM yesterday, when one of the sons of the diseased was about to go for his wine tapping business, some security operatives reportedly from Anti-Cult Police Division Enugwu-Ukwu, scaled the fence of the family compound in a bid to arrest a suspected cultist.

According to him, they started beating a young member of the family and when the grandmother woke up to know what was happening, she was allegedly pushed down by one of the Police Officers, leading to her death.

He noted that formal complaint have been lodged at the Neni Police Division to be followed up by other subsequent actions to ensure that justice prevail.

On his part, one of the sons of the deceased, Mr. Morris Ezeagha, said he was shocked when the doors of his house was suddenly broken by the officers, who started manhandling his son, a tailor and his late mother, who came out to find out what was going on, got pushed by one of the officers and she died as the result of injuries sustained.
His son, Echezona Ezeagha, who sustained injuries on his back and leg, said he was physically distressed and surprised by the invasion of the Police and his subsequent arrest , adding that he is a tailor and not a cultist, noting that he was released when the Police Officers learnt of the fatality.

The development triggered off Protest by youths of community as the signs were seen when ABS visited the scene but well meaning community members were said to have doused the tension.
Efforts to get official statement from the Anambra State Police Command, did not yield any result
