The Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Paschal
Agbodike says the Seventh Anambra State House of Assembly has lived up
to its cardinal objectives in the past one year.
Dr Agbodike disclosed this while speaking on the one year anniversary
celebration of the House in Awka.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim was there and reports that
Dr Agbodike noted that the Seventh Assembly under the leadership of
Right Honourable Uche Okafor has remarkably improved the living
condition of the people with passage of people oriented bills and
resolutions.
The Deputy Speaker maintained that Anambra State House of Assembly
unlike what is obtainable in some other states has for the past one
year enjoyed good working relationship with the Executive Arm of
Government which has resulted in accelerated development of Anambra
State.
The Deputy Speaker commended members of the House for the COVID-19
preventive materials they distributed to their constituents and for
cushioning the economic effects of the deadly virus on them through
distribution of food stuffs as palliatives.
On his part, the member representing Ihiala One Constituency,
Honourable Chidi Udemmadu who thanked God for the fruitful results the
House has recorded in the last one year, said the House has provided
very sound and strong oversight functions which has helped the
Executive in the discharge of her duties.
He expressed the commitment of the House to the enactment of more
people oriented laws in the new legislative year for the good
governance of the state.
