Nigerian leaders have been urged to reflect on the nation’s past with
a view to creating a new vision as the nation marks its two-one years
anniversary of uninterrupted democracy day.

This was the topic of discussion on an ABS Audience participatory
programme, “Anambra Express“.

Correspondent, Emengini Osadebe reports that the discussants were of
the opinion that the leaders should look inward, feel the pulse of the
governed and provide them with democracy dividend.

A legal practitioner, Mr. Emeka Anyaoha, who rated the nation below
average in terms of security, regretted the slow pace of development
in the country and called for improved standard of living for the poor
masses.

Mr. Anyaoha maintained that democracy is a government of inclusion and
urged those in elective positions to play the game according to the
rule, deploy justice and fairness in enthroning peace and unity in the
country.

He maintained that if equal rights were given to all parts of the
country in terms of infrastructural development, there would be an all
round development across the country.

On his part, the Vice President, Onitsha Chamber of Commerce,
Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Mr. Chinedu Nwonu, stated that the
nation is not in the best of time to celebrate due to COVID-19
pandemic and the decay in the society, calling for sincerity of
purpose.

Mr. Nwonu urged government to provide social infrastructure that will
attract investors in order to provide job opportunities for the
teaming youths.
