To further strengthen the State government’s fight against COVID-19, pandemic, the Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency has embarked on another round of training for health workers in the State.

The four day training programme on COVID-19 protocols, holding simultaneously in the twenty-one Local Government Areas is sponsored by the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency.

While speaking at Amawbia, venue of the training for Awka South Local Government health workers, the Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Chioma Ezenyimulu, said passing accurate information to the public is key in halting community spread of the virus.

She explained that the rise in number of cases of the virus in the State is because of the community search launched by the State government, adding that the health workers have been equipped to achieve results in the fight against the pandemic, even as the agency will launch community engagement at the end of the programe.

Director, Awka South Local Government Health Authority, Dr. Frank Umeh and Deputy Director, Nursing, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Anigbogu, enjoined health workers to increase awareness on COVID-19 preventive measures, noting that passing right information is key in halting community spread of the pandemic.

Participants at the event, including Mrs. Ebele Eze and Ifeoma Okafor, promised to drive acquired knowledge to the grassroots, expressing delight that COVID-19 is not a death sentence.
