Wealthy individuals of Anambra State extraction in the dispora have
been called upon to deploy part of their wealth to the State.

The Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke made the call shortly after
inspecting the Millennium City Estate still under construction in
Awka.

Government House Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that the
Millennium City Estate is a project being constructed in the State by
the MPI infrastructure in collaboration with the Anambra State
government under Public Private Partnership arrangement.

During the inspection exercise, it was observed that part of the major
road to the project which was inaugurated last year has been
constructed, while major part of the hundred hectares of land on which
the estate will be erected had been fenced, as other preliminary
works, such as channeling of drainages, moulding of blocks, among
others, are ongoing.

Dr Okeke who commended the company for the standard of work done so
far, called on them to endeavour to fulfill their own part of the
project, as according to him the Anambra State government has already
fulfilled its own part of the deal.

He called on wealthy Ndi Anambra to replicate the project in other
parts of the State for development, create employment
opportunities, and make life more meaningful for people residing in
the State.

Speaking during the event, the Managing Director of Anambra State
Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, Mr Jide Ikeako who is
representing Anambra State government in the project, said the project
is on Public Private Partnership arrangement between the government
and MPI infrastructure.

Government functionaries that accompanied the Deputy Governor to the
estate were the Chief of Staff, Chief Primus Odili, Commissioner for
Lands, Mr Bonaventure Enemali, that of Works, Mr Marcel Ifejiofor,
Commissioner for Environment, Mr Obi Nwankwo, his Transport
counterpart, Mr Afam Mbanefo, Managing Director of Awka Capital
Territory Development Authority, Venerable Amaechi Okwuosa, among
others.
