The Majority Leader and Member representing Awka South Constituency
One at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Nnamdi Okafor has
distributed another round of relief materials to his constituents as
palliatives to cushion the effect of coronavirus pandemic on them.
The event which was held under strict observance of social distancing
was witnessed by the leaders of the nine wards under Awka South
Constituency One.

House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that
items distributed were bags of rice and beans, tubers of yam and
cartons of tin tomatoes.

The lawmaker engaged the leaders of the nine wards that make up Awka
South Constituency One to deliver the items to the beneficiaries.
Addressing the people, Dr. Okafor explained that he decided to engage
in the distribution of palliatives to his constituents for the second
time to curb hardships caused by coronavirus pandemic.

Dr Okafor commended members of the Anambra State Government Special
Committee on COVID-19 that are at the forefront of the fight against
the virus and urged his constituents to always abide by the COVID-19
laws to contain the spread of the virus in the State.
In his remark, the leader of Awka ward four, Mr Osondu Nweke who spoke
unbehalf of others appreciated Dr. Okafor for the COVID-19
intervention materials.

Others who spoke at the event, Mr Chuks Anaekwe and Lady Jane Nze
described the lawmaker as a man who has the interest of his people at
heart.

Later, Dr. Okafor visited Tender Love Community Children’s Home in
Awka, where he donated bags of rice, beans, tubers of yam and cartons
of tin tomatoes to the orphanage home.

Expressing gratitude to the Legislator, the Director of the
Orphanage Home, Mrs Helen Eze commended him for his benevolence.
Dr Okafor also visited Model Community Children’s Home at Real Estate,
Ifite-Awka where he made similar donations.
