Anambra state Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism under
the new Commissioner, Dr Christian Madubuko and the team from the
Presidency have embarked on assessment tour of tourist attractions in
Anambra state with a view to harnessing tourism potentials for the
development of Anambra state.

They visited Ogba-Ukwu Cave and Waterfalls, Owerre-Ezukala in Orumba
South Council area, Ogbunike Cave in Oyi Local Government Area,
Igbo-ukwu Bronze Museum, among other Tourist centers in Anambra state.

While speaking shortly after the visit, Dr Madubuko said that the
great tourism potentials of the state if well developed, will generate huge revenue for the state.

He commended the efforts of Governor Willie Obiano in repositioning
tourism in Anambra state and restated commitment
towards promotion of indigenous art, culture and tourism in the state.

The Transition Committee Chairman, Orumba South Council area, Chief
Raymond Onyegu who lauded the move by the Ministry, pledged
support towards the realization of the dream.

Among the Commissioners entourage were the Permanent Secretary in the
Ministry, Mr Emma Umeokana, the Director of Culture, Mrs Chioma among
others.

The tour began with a courtesy call on the Traditional Ruler of
Owerre-Ezukala Igwe Thomas Ogbonnaya.
