The Bishop on the Niger, Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo has dedicated an ultra modern synod hall, built to accommodate delegates, with adequate social distancing.

Valentine Mbadugha reports that the edifice, built at St Simon’s Church, Nnobi, was donated to the church by Mr. Emeka Agbanari, in memory of his late mother, Mrs. Pauline Agbanari.

It was observed that no one was allowed access into the premises without a protective face mask, thorough hand washing with soap and application of hand sanitizer at the entrance after being checked with infrared thermometer.

In his remarks, the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim stressed that it is not a suggestion but a direction for one to live in accordance with the way God’s spirit directs.

While dedicating the hall, Bishop Nwokolo, thanked the benefactor, and called on Christians to emulate such gesture.
In his synod message with the theme, “Walk in the Spirit”, Bishop Nwokolo noted that only those, who walk in the spirit, overcoming the works of the flesh, can display the fruits of the Holy Spirit, describing it as the manifestation of true Christianity.

Also speaking, Mr. Agbanari charged Christians to remain steadfast in the Lord, noting that the growth of the church which is geared towards winning souls for God should be the concern of every true child of God.
In their separate remarks, the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu and the Chancellor, Diocese on the Niger, Sir Nnamdi Ibegbu, viewed the Bishop’s charge as apt and commended those that contributed to the success of the synod especially, Mr. Agbanari praying God to bless them.
The traditional ruler of Enugwu-ukwu, Igwe Ralph Ekpeh was among the dignitaries that attended the synod.
