It was yet another busy and revealing day for the joint raid team of Anambra State Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.

As is customary of the Ministry ably led by the Commissioner, Lady Ndidi Mezue to rid the streets of Anambra State of mentally challenged persons roaming the street.

Today’s exercise turned out to be a life changing experience for Mr Omebeoguna Ifeanyi Louis, a native of Ebonyi State.

Mr Ifeanyi, alongside a mentally challenged person were picked up at Aroma Bridge and Enugu Onitsha Expresse road, Awka, respectively.

The assumption that Ifeanyi was mentally challenged, but upon interrogation by the Honourable Commissioner, it was discovered that Mr Ifeanyi is sane.

Like the holy book says, affliction makes a wise man mad. It was depression that drove Ifeanyi to roam the streets like a mentally deranged person, before he was rescued today, Monday, 29th June, 2020.

Mr Ifeanyi is currently undergoing rehabilitation and counseling at the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, while the other person has been taken to Nteje home for the Mentally challenged to start his rehabilitation.
