Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Security, Police Affairs
and Boundary Matters has called for increased budgetary allocation to Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, to enable it discharge its duties effectively.

The Chairman of the committee, Honourable Onyebuchi Ofor made the call
when the committee paid a familiarization visit to the Agency in Awka.
House of Assembly correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that while commending the Agency for enforcing government laws and
policies, Honourable Ofor explained that the visit was designed to
figure out areas where the Committee could assist them to do better.
The legislator noted that since the Agency was put in place, there has
been tremendous improvement on compliance to government policies by the people.

Receiving the Committee members, the Managing Director, of OCHA
Brigade, Mr. Douglas Okafor appealed for increased budgetary allocation and operational vehicles for the three Senatorial Districts.

Mr. Okafor unveiled that plans are underway to conduct enlightenment
programme on the dangers of street trading, blocking of flood channels
and dumping of refuse at unapproved places.

He also applauded the committee for working effectively with Governor
Willie Obiano and security agencies in fighting crime in the state.
