Even in the face of hardships caused by COVID-19 pandemic in the
state, some citizens are using the opportunity to make brisk business
through the sale of face masks.

Our Correspondent Ngozi Obileri who visited parts of Awka to monitor
level of compliance to Anambra state law on COVID-19, reports that
nobody has any reason not to wear face mask given the fact that it is
sold at virtually all the strategic places in Awka and environs.

Moving around Awka especially along Enugu-Onitsha Express road and
Ziks Avenue Awka, girls, boys, mothers and fathers
alike were seen standing in front of commercial banks and other commercial areas
selling face masks to readily available buyers.

Speaking to our correspondent at a motor park at Awkuzu junction, a
girl of about ten years old Miss Chisom Okafor said she makes between
two and three thousand naira daily.

She said that her mother gets supply of the face masks from a tailor
and sells at the price of one hundred naira through her.

Miss Chisom added that since school is not in session, she decided to
be assisting her mother in selling the face masks.
