Work is in progress at Oganiru Health Center Umueze village, Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area.
A visit to the project site reveals that in addition to the one storey building earlier completed, fencing of the Health Centre premises, mounting of over head tank and entrance gate will soon be completed.
Speaking at the project site, the Chairman Oganiru Age grade Umueze, Mr. Chekwube Obiejesi noted that the Health Center project solely sponsored by their age grade is in three phases, construction of all necessary structures, purchase and installation of medical equipment, and employment of health workers and handing over of project to the community.
Mr. Obiejesi told ABS that the Age Grade through the health centre project wants to give back to the society that raised them, blaming the slow pace of work at the site on economic hardship associated with COVID 19 pandemic.
The chairman emphasized that their community is in dire need of a modern health care facility that will attend to the health needs of their people especially during emergency situations.
On his part, the Vice Chairman, Oganiru Age Grade, Mr. Chinedu Iloh explained that the completed main structure of the Health Center has a laboratory and consulting units, female and general wards as well as staff quarters.
The Parish Priest of St Theresa’s Parish Umueze Isuofia, Reverend Father Festus Okoye who had earlier unveiled the completed one storey structure of the Health Center said building such a state of the art Health Center at Isuofia is a dream come true as people of the area can access quality health care services with ease.
Those who spoke to the ABS at Isuofia were full of expectation that in no distance time, the project will be completed.
