The State Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mr. Charles
Nwoji, has cautioned against stigmatization of persons
infected by Coronavirus as they need the support and care of everybody
to survive.

Mr. Nwoji made the call in his statewide advocacy and sensitization
campaign on increased risk communication and community engagement on
COVID-19, held at a Motor Park in, Awka.

While maintaining that the Coronavirus infection is increasing on a
daily basis across the country, Mr. Nwoji challenged commercial
transport operators to avoid loading their vehicles beyond the
capacity permitted by present COVID-19 regulations.

He equally admonished tricycle operators to refrain from overloading
their vehicles, against state government regulations, for the
actualization of physical distancing protocol necessary for the
prevention of the coronavirus infection.

Barrister Nwoji, noted that Anambra State Government has put
in place a functional COVID-19 testing centre at the Chukwuemeka
Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka, with a
capacity of conducting more than two thousand tests within
twenty-four hours .

He also noted that the the State Government has equally
established sample collection centers in the twenty-one Local
Government Areas of the state and advised Ndi Anambra to take
advantage of these facilities to ascertain their coronavirus status.

The Deputy Director of Programmes, Sir Joseph Uchendu, who condemned
the overcrowding of passengers by the drivers for personal gains,
warned passengers to avoid person-to-person contact while travelling
in commercial vehicles, for their safety.

The NOA team, had on arrival, paid a courtesy visit to the Manager, of
the Motor Park, Mr. Emeka Offor, who commended them for their untiring
efforts at ensuring that the populace is kept aware of what to do to
avoid Coronavirus.
