A nurse with the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi,
Mrs. Beatrice Okeke, has said that Hepatitis B infection is better
avoided than allowed.
She stated this during a Women Forum, held at the Redeemed Christian
Church of God, Seed of David Parish, Okpuno over the weekend.
Mrs. Okeke stressed that avoiding the disease is key because if one
gets infected, there is no treatment that can completely remove the
virus from the body.
She mentioned some of the symptoms to include body weakness, headache,
nausea, severe loss of appetite, weight loss, and muscular pains among
others.
Nurse Okeke unveiled the disease mode of transmission to include
tattoos, dialysis, sharing of needles, exposure to infected body
fluids and mother-to- child transmission during delivery.
She, however, explained that vaccination at birth, thorough screening
of blood products as well as living a moral lifestyle can help in the
prevention of Hepatitis B infection.
Speaking on the topic “A leader with a winning heart”, the Provincial
Pastor in-charge of RCCG, Anambra Province One, Pastor Kayode
Emmanuel, described women as people of influence and leaders.
Pastor Emmanuel pointed that a leader with a winning heart is
hard-working, strategic in all that she does and above all involves
God in order to achieve her goals.
The programme featured prayers, thanksgiving, question and answer session.
