It is seven days to the kick-off of the maiden edition of Anambra Broadcasting Service’ Interdepartmental Sports Challenge.

A visit to the corporate headquarters of Anambra foremost media corporation, the ABS shows that preparations are in top gear as trainings in the different sports that will feature at the challenge have reached the crescendo.

Correspondent, David Okpokwasili captures the mood as Monday, July twenty-seven, the kick-off date for the tournament draws closer in days .
Members of staff, both the males and the females prepare ahead of the kick-off of this maiden sports challenge.

The ABS Inter-departmental Sports Challenge is tournament initiated by the Chief Uche Nworah led management geared towards staff bonding, inspire healthy living and energize creativity.
The tournament which will last five days beginning July twenty-seven till thirty-first, 2020 will feature table tennis competition for male and female categories and volleyball for females and football for males.

Chief Nworah, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, while speaking to ABS Sports News through the Head of Technical Services and ICT Unit, Mr. Ugochukwu Aforekelu assured that the tournament is planned to meet all COVID-19 protocols as it will see to the reduction of the players in the court or football pitch at a time.

The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Chibuzo Obidike was confident that the competition will go a long way in encouraging friendliness among staff while stating that the rewards were not made public so as to encourage participants focus on the friendship that will come from the sports and not just for the price.

The Secretary of the Planning Committee, Mr. Pascal Osubor listed how the draws of the competition were made.

This maiden challenge is powered by SwissMetrotiles, Amaecom, Cheers Table Water, Christ Garden Green Pastures Bible Church Worldwide, the President General of Abacha, Mr. Ifeanyi Okeke and Chief Walter Chigbo, the Chinyelugo of Awgbu.
