Anambra State Chapter of Ohaneze Ndigbo says it will partner the State
government in its effort to harness potential in Tourism industry which
it noted is capable of creating more job opportunities.
The President of the Pan Igbo Organization in Anambra State, Chief
Damian Okeke-Ogene gave the promise when the Special Adviser to
Governor Willie Obiano on Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Art Works,
Culture and Tourism, Mr Tony One-Week Muonagor visited him at his
Country home Nanka in Orumba North Local government area.
According to Chief Okeke-Ogene, harnessing the potential in the
Entertainment Industry as well as promoting Igbo language and culture
will no doubt bring the rich cultural heritage of Ndigbo to the lime
light.
While thanking Governor Obiano for all his efforts to ensure the
sustenance of the rich cultural heritage of Ndigbo, Chief Okeke-Ogene
called on parents of Igbo extraction to form the habit of discussing
with their children in their Mother tongue as part of efforts to save
the language from going into extinction.
Earlier the Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Diaspora Affairs,
Indigenous Art Works, Culture and Tourism Mr Muonagor called for
support by various Igbo groups in sustaining our cultural heritage,
reminding affluent Igbo citizens of the need to bring part of their
investment to Anambra State for enhanced development of the State.
He called on the people of the State to continue with their support to
the Obiano administration.
