The Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has decorated
twenty-four newly promoted police officers from the command with
their new ranks.
The decoration of the newly promoted police officers was carried out
by the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, Mr. John Abang, at the
command headquarters, Amawbia.
Among the newly promoted police officers were two Superintendents of
Police, SP, who were promoted to Chief Superintendents of Police, CSP,
twenty Deputy Superintendents of Police, DSP, promoted to the rank of
Superintendents of Police, SP, while two Assistant Superintendents of
Police, ASP, were elevated to the rank of Deputy Superintendents of
Police, DSP.
The decoration was a follow up to the recent approval for promotion of
officers of the force, by the Police Service Commission, PSC.
In a brief remark during the ceremony, the Commissioner of Police, Mr.
Abang reminded the beneficiaries that their new ranks meant bigger
responsibilities on their shoulders and charged them to make positive
strides in line with professional policing.
Mr. Abang also noted that the promotion was a demonstration of the
commitment of the present leadership of the force to motivate its
officers and men as well as to give them strong platform for effective
performance.
In a vote of thanks on behalf of the promoted officers, CSP Francisca
Uchendu and SP Akpan Ekpe, thanked the Police Service Commission for
finding them worthy of the elevation and pledged continuous allegiance
to the system.
Among those present were Senior Police Officers across the state.
