A two-day training on basic principles and practice of logistics
management information systems as organized by the Anambra state
Ministry of Health for their local government monitoring and
evaluation officers has ended in Awka.

The training which attracted all the monitoring and evaluation
officers at the state level and from the twenty-one location across
the state was in partnership with the United Nations and World Health
Organization, WHO.

Speaking on the essence of the training, the state Commissioner for
Health, Dr Vincent Okpala said that it will contribute immensely
towards improving on the service delivery.

Dr Okpala who was represented by the Head of Planning, Research and
Statistics Department, Anambra state Ministry of Health, Mrs. Edith
Nwachukwu noted that effective and quality health care system which is
one of the driving agenda of the Obiano administration requires
proactive measures, hence the reason for the training to enable the
ministry provide efficiently the working tools for health facilities
across the state to meet the demands of Ndi Anambra health wise.

On her part, the Health Information Officer in the WHO’s country
office in Abuja, Mrs. Nkiruka Ukor, who commended the level of
commitment by the state government in the area of health and the
health sector leadership in the state, noted that the intervention
project, Strengthening the healthcare system for achieving universal
health coverage has recorded a huge success in Anambra state..

Dr Obinna Akabike, the Technical Assistant to the state Commissioner
for Health, who stressed the importance of data for effective service
delivery spoke on the expected outcome of the training.
