The South-East and South-South Professionals Association of Nigeria, has called for the immediate restructuring of the Nigerian-Nation.
The new National President of the association, Mr Hannibal Uwaifo made the call during a zoom press conference organized by the newly-inaugurated national executive body of the association.

The Association was founded in 2005 to pursue a consistent policy articulation and bold advocacy for the development of the South-East and South-South Geo-political zones and has remained a resilient vehicle for synergy amongst all layers of governance and service structures in the two geopolitical zones.

Addressing the press, the association which lamented the gross political, economic and social neglect of both the South East and South-South geopolitical zones of the country by successive governments, despite the two regions boosting the largest bulk of natural and human capital resource that have been driving the country for centuries, noted that the development of Nigeria would remain a futile dream if restructuring does not happen.

It also decried what it described as deliberate religious and tribal concentration ravaging the unity of the country, stating that such moves only widen the structural defects of the Nigerian-Nation.
It also frowned at the spate of corruption in the country, calling for a review of Nigeria’s anticorruption strategies.

On the rising cases of rape and child abuses in different parts of the country, the group called on the leadership of the thirty-six states of Nigeria to implement the contents of the child rights laws and bring the scourge to an end.

It also commended Governors of the States in both regions for their efforts towards checking the herdsmen onslaughts.
Correspondent, Daniel Ezeigwe reports that other members of the national executive of the association that took part in the virtual meeting were the Deputy President South-South, Mr Andy Wabali, Deputy President, South East, Mr George Agu, General Secretary, Mr Kalu Onuma, Deputy General Secretary- Mrs Anthonia Ofere among others.
