The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor says any foundation that is not properly rooted in Christ is bound to collapse.
In a sermon at the Holy Trinity Parish Igboukwu in Aguata Local Government Area during a service of confirmation and admission into Girls Guild and Mother’s Union for all the parishes under Igoukwu Archdeaconry, Bishop Ezeofor charged Christians to accept Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour in order to have eternal life.
Bishop Ezeofor who is also the National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion EFAC Nigeria, urged Christians to focus their attention on Jesus Christ, warning them not to allow earthly things distract them from serving the Lord.
The Anglican prelate who described Jesus Christ as the ultimate revelation and manifestation of God called on the faithful to avoid acts that will debase Christianity.
He charged all those entrusted with public fund to use such in improving the living standards of the people and urged the citizenry to always obey those in authority.
In a remark, the Archdeacon of Igboukwu Archdeaconry, Venerable Basil Ndupu who thanked Bishop Ezeofor for the visit charged Christians to always make a difference wherever they find themselves.
One hundred and fifty two candidates received the sacrament of confirmation while thirty-eight girls were admitted into the Girls Guild and twenty women into the Mother’s Union during the service.
One of those that received the sacrament of confirmation Miss Chukwuemeka Arinze promised to be a beacon of light adding that she will use her new position to win more souls for Christ.
Special prayer for the State and Nation also featured at the service which was conducted under strict observance of al the COVID-19 protocols including compulsory wearing of face masks and social distancing.
