The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy and Town Union Matters has expressed satisfaction with the financial records of Orumba North Local Government Council for the year 2019.

The committee disclosed this when it over sighted the local government council area as part of its constitutional responsibilities.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the committee which spoke through its chairman, Dr. Pete Ibida observed that the local government council was able to defend their financial transactions in 2019 and provided the list of capital projects they executed within the year under review.

It however, stressed the need for the local government council to always use Procurement Act in execution of capital projects that is above the benchmark stipulated by law.

The Committee commended the cleanliness of the local government headquarters and the peaceful disposition of the local government management staff.

The committee made it clear that their visit to the twenty one local government areas in the State is not to witch-hunt anybody but to ensure that local government managements follow due process in their undertakings.

In a vote of thanks, the Transition Committee Chairman, Orumba North Local Government Area, Mr Obinna Ikwueto who commended the committee for being on top of their jobs assured that they will improve on their processes.
The Committee also extended the exercise to Orumba South Local Government Council.
