Anambra State Government has presented Certificate of Occupancy to M-P Infrastructure Limited, the promoters of Awka Millennium City.
This covers the entire site of the ongoing Awka Millennium City project.
Performing the function, the Managing Director of Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, ANSIPPA, Mr Jide Ikeakor said the function is strategic to fulfilling the vision of the State Government in ensuring that Awka Millennium City, the new smart city coming to Awka, Anambra does not encounter any encumbrance.

David Okpokwasili reports that the Managing Director of ANSIPPA, Mr Ikeakor explained that Awka Millennium City which is located at the new Three Arms Zone, when completed will be a masterpiece that will compete favourably with other smart cities in the world, and meets the vision of the state government for a new Awka.

On his part, the Commissioner for Housing, Architect Mike Okonkwo said according to the Awka master plan, the Awka Millennium City is within the City One where it is expected that all infrastructure will be exemplary and urged the company to ride on the political goodwill of the Governor Willie Obiano administration to deliver on the expected demand of the smart city vision for the Awka Capital Territory.

Responding, the Managing Director of M-P Infrastructure Limited, Dr Clem Nwogbo, represented by the Project Manager, Awka Millennium City, Engineer Obinna Nnoruo, assured that the project will be completed as projected.

While promising that all the needed Logistics and infrastructure needed in the city will be ready and construction of residential and other forms of buildings would begin before the end of the year, Dr Nwogbo beckoned on investors to think Anambra and Awka Millennium City as the planning of the city meets international best standards.

The event climaxed with official presentation of the Certificate of Occupancy to representatives of M-P Infrastructure Limited, the promoters of Awka Millennium City.
