The Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging Governor Willie Obiano to direct the Commissioner for Basic Education to construct perimeter security fence at Community Secondary School, Achalla.
The resolution was sequel to a motion sponsored to that effect by the member representing Awka North Constituency, Honourable John Nwokoye during plenary.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim was there and reports that while explaining the motion, Honourable Nwokoye revealed that non construction of, perimeter fence at the school renders it vulnerable to criminal attacks thereby rendering the academic atmosphere unconducive for proper learning.
The Legislator maintained that construction of the perimeter fence will further deter criminal attacks and vandalization of laboratory equipments.
On his part, the Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Uche Okafor who noted that Governor Willie Obiano places high premium on the welfare of the people expressed confidence that he will salvage the situation
