The Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Anambra State Football
Association, Dr. Emeka Okeke has expressed the commitment of the
Association to the provision of the enabling environment for the
development of football in Anambra State.
Dr. Okeke gave the assurance when the Caretaker Committee paid a
courtesy visit to the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right
Honourable Uche Okafor in his office after plenary.
Dr Okeke explained that their mandate is to organize credible election
that will bring credible people into Anambra State Football
Association that will pilot the affairs of football in the State,
among other things.
Receiving the Committee, the Speaker, Right Honourable Okafor assured
that the House will give them all the necessary support needed to
achieve their mandates.
The Speaker urged them to carry members of the House along in all
their undertakings as they could assist the association in fishing out
talented footballers they could turn to superstars that will play for
the national team.
In a vote of thanks, the Chairman, House Committee on Youths and
Sports Development, Honourable Noble Igwe described the visit as a
step in the right direction and urged the committee to fashion out
modalities to promote school sports in Anambra State.
