The Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of The Niger And Bishop Of
Awka, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has charged Christians not to be
afraid to bear witness for Christ.

Most Reverend Ibezim stated this at Saint Michael’s And All Angel’s
Ifite Awka during a pastoral visit where he performed sacrament of
confirmation to two hundred candidates and admitted sixty into the
mother’s union and over one hundred into girl’s guild.

Correspondent, Amaka Chibuzor Okoye was there and reports that Archbishop Ibezim said that as confirmed candidates, they’re disciples
of Christ , empowered by the Holy Spirit who has
given them spiritual energies to do exploit.

Most Reverend Ibezim asked them to live in Christ, hold onto their
faith, pray fervently and never allow the things of the world to
mislead them and prayed for God’s grace upon the nation.

In a sermon during the service, the Diocesan Administrator Venerable
Rex Kanu said that their target should be to make heaven noting that it will
be a great disaster if at the end of life they will not be worthy to
stand before the Lord even as he encouraged all not to wear old self
but allow Christ to take over their lives.

While thanking God for the Archbishops visit, the Vicar of the
church, Venerable Ekenechukwu Nwafor thank the Archbishop for visit, assured that they will make evangelism and mission their watch word.

Speaking on behalf of the candidates, Master Emmanuel Ofodile,
Precious Okafor and Favour Ifeanyichukwu promised to follow Christ to
the end of time.
