As the State marks twenty nine years of its existence, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, has underscored the necessity for Ndi Anambra and government of the state to work together for the common good of her citizens.
Bishop Ezeokafor who disclosed this to newsmen in his office at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka, while commenting on the state’s achievement for the past twenty nine years, thanked God for making Anambra toe the part of success despite all odds.
Most Reverend Ezeokafor extolled the past and present governments for piloting the affairs of the state effectively even as he noted that the state has achieved a lot since inception emphasizing that the immediate past and present administrations have done well especially in education and other sectors of the state economy.
The Awka Catholic Bishop expressed satisfaction with the robust synergy between the state and the church, but appealed to the government not to rescind plans in further supporting the church for the common good of the people.
He noted that the state has equally done well in education, noting that when one is educated the person is open to development.
On the area of Health, the Prelate urged the government to support and equip the mission hospitals, stressing that the place of the church is to moderate the life of people for good.
Bishop Ezeokafor, who decried the lifestyle and immoral
behavior of the society , called for change of attitude to avert the wrath of God.
