Commentary: Anambra Elders And Stakeholders Forum For Good Leadership

Anambra Elders and Stakeholders Forum For Good Leadership, otherwise called ANELDERS LEADERSHIP FORUM, is an umbrella body of all the elders, opinion leaders, leaders of thought and stakeholders in Anambra State, both within Nigeria and in the Diaspora as well as members of Igbo Elders and Stakeholders Leadership Forum Worldwide. They are critical thinkers in education, trade and commerce, agriculture, industry, mines and power.

ANELDERS LEADERSHIP FORUM unites Anambra elders and stakeholders for think-tank with the aim of providing an effective platform for transmitting progressive ideas to Government, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council and Anambra Sate Association of Towns Union (ASATU).

Hence, party manifestoes, ideologies, religious denominations, personal interests, views or opinions will never be our projection; but the consensus views of the ANELDERSLEADERSHIP FORUM on matters of public interest, and for good governance. The focus is to promote peace, harmony and good governance.

The founding father of ANELDERS LEADERSHIP FORUM is Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife (CON), Okwadike, former Governor of Anambra State. It is led by Honourable Justice Anthony Iguh (CON), former Justice of Supreme Court, and former Chief Judge of old and new Anambra States, while Prof Mike Aghadiuno is the National Secretary. Chief Mbazuruike Amechi, The Boy is good, the only surviving political father of Nigeria is there too.

ANELDERS LEADERSHIP FORUM seeks to ensure that the views and opinions of Ndi Anambra are not only sought by policy makers before formulating major policies on good governance and leadership – but that such views and opinions are also incorporated into policies. ANELDERS LEADERSHIP FORUM will never stop extending the hand of friendship to all so as to get the job done for the good people of Anambra State.

We will always work to find common ground where we can, until success is assured. ANELDERS LEADERSHIP FORUM is a non-profit, non-religious, non political and non-governmental organization. Its vision is to ensure morally conscious leadership and business environment in Anambra State, while its mission is to build a community of elders and stakeholders of proven integrity who will be willing and ready to dedicate their Time, Talent and Treasure for the good of Anambra State.

Our core value is Transparency, Unity and Trustworthiness. The mandate of the group is to unite Anambra Elders, Citizenry and Stakeholders to form a formidable front for the healthy social and economic growth of the state.

The operational policies of ANELDERS LEADERSHIP FORUM are that the purpose of the leadership will not interfere with individual member’s businesses or denominational leanings but will enhance and promote their interests and to foster relationship building and with one mind, fight for the cause of the common man by insisting that good leadership is entrenched in Anambra State at all times.

Persons selected, elected or appointed into ANELDERS LEADERSHIP FORUM must be people who are willing to key into the vision, mission, aims and objectives of the leadership organization with life of proven integrity, honesty and transparency. They must be tough minded persons of strong will, character, self pride and convictions; the kind of persons who may refuse food even while very hungry and persons who will never “sell out”. They must be people who are so committed to, and even so consumed with, Igbo Interest, that, should their personal interests clash with Igbo interests, they will have no difficulty in jettisoning their personal interests.

Membership is open to every elder and stakeholder of Igbo extraction who is resident in Anambra State, irrespective of education, gender or religious belief. All Elders and Stakeholders of various communities in Anambra State and other states are to register at their Local Government Headquarters or designated places.
