As Anambra State marks her twenty nine years of existence, education stakeholders have called for more funding of the sector to help meet the challenges of the new form of teaching and learning currently going on globally.


Education correspondent Theophilus Ukoha who had a chat with some of them reports that though there are serious improvement in the Education Sector over years back , there is need for more infrastructure and technology based e-learning in all schools and colleges.


Professor Pita Ejiofor, a former Vice Chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University and founder of Otu Subakwa Igbo Nigeria, said the state has overtime seen the emergence of Polytechnics , Colleges of Education and federal tertiary institutions as such is blessed academically and commended past governments and Governors who steered the ship of academic achievements.
Prof Ejiofor however charged Ndigbo especially NDI Anambra to value their language and culture.


The Rector Anambra State Polytechnic Mgbakwu, Dr Nneka Mefor, who said that Education Sector in Anambra State has improved tremendously, charged all NDI Anambra to rally round and make meaningful investment in education so that Anambra State will keep towering higher in academic excellence.


Also speaking, Professor Josephat Ogbuagu, former Provost Federal College of Education Technical Umunze, said the Education sector has moved to new form of teaching and learning contrary to what it used to be back in the years which is technological based e-learning.


The Chairman Mathematical Association of Nigeria Anambra State chapter Dr Chike Obienyem, said although much has been done to improve teaching and learning in the state overtime there is need to train and retrain teachers and equip them with modern methodology to enable them meet the challenges of teaching in the new normal.
