Prominent Ndi Anambra both at home and in the diaspora have continued
to bare their minds on the developmental strides of the State, twenty-nine years after its creation.

Those who spoke to the ABS on the event to mark the twenty-ninth
anniversary of the creation of the present Anambra State noted that a comparative look at the State as against its age shows that a lot has
been achieved in terms of social, economic and infrastructural development.

Reflecting on the anniversary, the founder of ASA-USA and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Igbo Cultural Association of California, Chief Jimmy Asiegbu, said that in the Nigeria context characterized by slow development and economic challenges, Anambra, in the last few years has maintained track record of good governance, security, agricultural revolution among other visible indices of development.
Chief Asiegbu maintained that past and present administrations have recorded robust achievements and developments, which, if sustained, would propel further development across the state in few years to come.

On his part, a University Teacher, Dr Ejike Anene, said that Anambra
State, since creation, has recorded appreciable progress as witnessed
in the increase in the number of educational institutions in the
State, handover of schools to the mission and establishment of the
best road networks in Nigeria, noting that what the state currently
needs is the commitment of the federal government to reconstructing its various dilapidated federal roads.
A resident of the state, Lady Ifeoma Okeke, in her appraisal of the state, said that Anambra State has made immense progress since its
creation but asked that efforts be made to ensure that all parts of
the State get equal attention in terms of development.
