Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Dr Ebelechukwu Obiano, has called on the church to remain consistent in its prayer for the constituted authority.
Dr Mrs. Obiano made the call during a thanksgiving service at Saint Peters’ Anglican Church, Igboukwu, Aguata Local Government Area, marking the end of the fifteenth Aguata Diocesan Women’s Conference.
The Governor’s wife in her speech, stressed the need for the church to continue with its prayers for the present administration to enable it achieve more.
Dr Obiano, who was represented by the wife of the state Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Market and Wealth Creation, Lady Ogechukwu Okafor, called on women to see themselves as partners in nation building and charged them to be alive to their responsibilities especially in child upbringing to secure a brighter future for them.
She commended Bishop Samuel Ezeofor and his wife, Chinyere for all their achievements in the Diocese and called on the church to map out more programmes that will change the moral tone of the society.
In a sermon, the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, who x-rayed the theme of the conference: “Jesus Christ the Founder and Finisher of Our Faith”, charged Christians to always anchor their faith in God and desist from seeking wisdom and power outside God.

Chinyere Ezeofor, who appreciated God for the success of this year’s conference, called on mothers to put into practice what they garnered during the conference in their homes and social endeavours.
Others who spoke at the event including the Bishop’s wife nominee, Lady Uche Nwosu and the Chairman, Local Organizing Committee, Lay Reader Fred Okonkwo, described the theme of the conference as pertinent and called on women to sustain their evangelical drive for the greater good of the society.
The thanksgiving service featured cutting of conference cake, prayers and renditions by the choir and Diocesan Women’s choral wing, among others.
