improve the quality of services rendered to beneficiaries of ASHIA at
the hospital.

Dr Onyemaechi, who is also Special Adviser to the Governor on Health,
said this at Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital during a meeting with the
hospital staff members.

He said the solar powered lights being provided will power the
hospital in case of power outage especially at nights and also
provides ultrasound scan machine, which is essential in management of
pregnant women.

happiness with the government and ASHIA for the good work they are
doing, noting  that she has benefited from ASHIA when she took ill last
month, but was examined and treated almost free of charge, as she paid
only ten per cent of the bill for drugs.

intervention from ASHIA  and assured the ASHIA boss that they would handle the equipment with utmost care.

Dr Uche Okeke, a Medical Doctor at the hospital expressed delight over
the promised equipment and requested for a call room for doctors which
was a challenge especially, for those at night duties who do not have
anywhere to stay.

The ASHIA boss promised that while working with the management of the

improve on existing structure for the good of Anambra residents.
He commended the state for establishing ASHIA, which he said had
become a veritable tool for funding healthcare delivery in the state.
