The Actors Guild of Nigeria says it will partner Anambra State Government in discovering young talents who can excel in the film industry.The group, led by its National President, Mr Emeka Rowland Ejezie, disclosed this when they visited the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C-Don Adinuba, in Awka.

According to the National President of the Guild, Mr Ejezie, the partnership is spurred by the commendable  success recorded  in the cultural and entertainment sectors  by the present administration in the state.Mr Ejezie also noted that the association is looking to checkmate youth restiveness by exploring human capacity opportunities abound in filmmaking, especially in Nigeria’s Nollywood industrial which is rated as the third largest film industry in the world. 

Responding, Mr Adinuba who noted that the Obiano administration has a keen interest in the development of the entertainment industry in Anambra State, cited ongoing plans to have a film village in the state as a reference point.Mr Adinuba also pointed  to the roles played by Anambra-born talents in the Nigeria’s entertainment sector, observing that the commercial city of Onitsha has remained a major marketing hub for films in Nigeria . On his part, the Sole Administrator of the Guild, Mr Chris Ezeolisa, said that the quest to partner the Anambra State Government had been on since the last administration, but expressed hope that with the keen interest shown by present government, the long dream would just become a reality.
