It was a colourful event, as the people of Nnewi North Council area
and Afa Igbo bu Ofu movement, Nnewi North chapter, celebrated Governor
Willie Obiano, on his numerous projects in the town, especially his
intervention on Hundred Foot Road erosion site, Nnewi.
Governor Willie Obiano among other projects constructed the Nnewichi Erosion site, Water Works Project in Nnewichi and Erosion site at Okpuno Uzodike by Hundred Foot Road, Nnewi.
The Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Budget and
Strategic Planning, Honourable Melie Onyejepu, in his speech expressed gratitude to the Governor for his wonderful work at the erosion site, as over forty cubic of sand was used to fill up the gully.
Earlier, the member representing Nnewi North in the state House of
Assembly, Honourable Smart Okafor, recalled the devastating nature of
the erosion before the intervention and thanked the Governor for his
other enormous good deeds to the people of Nnewi.
The Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Afam Mbanefo, thanked the governor for his love and kindness to the people of Nnewi and Anambra State at large especially as it concerns the erosion site.
Speaking shortly after the event, the APGA Chairman, Nnewi North,
Honourable Chike Agwuncha, urged those dumping refuge inside the
drainages to desist forthwith.
The event also featured presentation of motorcycle to a dedicated
member of Afa Igbo bu Ofu by its National Chairman, Mr. Onyedika
Chukwuma.
