Nzuko Umuada Anambra Advancement International Initiative, South East
Chapter has celebrated its one year Anniversary with donation of food
items to Model Community Children’s Home and Day Care Centre, Awka.

The Association, a worldwide network of daughters of Anambra State
from all works of life, is committed to improving the living condition
of the people and contributing positively to the growth of the state
through promoting the culture, projects and providing workable
solutions for a sustainable state, nation and the world at large.

Receiving the group, Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs,
Children and Social Welfare, Lady Ndidi Mezue, who spoke through the
Coordinator of the Home, Sister Philomena Akuchukwu while expressing
satisfaction with their visit, which according to her, shows the core
identity of the Igbo woman, applauded them for the items donated.
The Vice President One National, Engineer Tobechukwu Okoye and the
South East Coordinator, Lady Uche Onwuachu said the organization,
which is an NGO, is made up of Umuada Anambra, married within or
outside the state with a common vision of addressing issues affecting
the state and the welfare of the girl child.

They noted that the desire was born out of the achievements recorded by
Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, with her CAFE Initiative.
They extolled Governor Willie Obiano for always empowering families and prayed God to continue to guide him and his
household.

For the Anambra State Coordinator, Mrs. Tonia Nwankwo and her Enugu
State Counterpart, Lady Victoria Aniekwena, the Legal Adviser,
Barrister Phoebe Obinaeme, the Head, Media and Communication
department of the Organization, Ifeoma Ugwuegbu, the organization is
rooted in grassroots to ensure that all Anambra women across the
country and the world are given sense of belonging and opportunity to
make impacts in the development of the state.

Responding, the children, who showed their excitement through
different performances, stretched out their hands in prayers,
professing good things on members of the Association individually and
collectively.

The women later challenged the children to a dancing competition to
express love.
