The member representing Nnewi South One Constituency in the State
House of Assembly, Honourable Sony Ozobialu has commenced the
construction of a five- classroom block at Central School, Osumenyi,
Nnewi South Local Government Area.


The gesture is aimed at arresting the issue of insufficient class
rooms confronting the school.


House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim was there and  reports that while speaking to journalists at the project site, Honourable Ozobialu explained that it is in fulfillment of his promise to the school and
to compliment the efforts of Governor Willie Obiano in the education
sector.


The Lawmaker, who described education as the best legacy any society
can bequeath itself, called on the school management to take full
ownership of the project to prevent theft or shoddy job.


Honourable Ozobialu also disclosed that he has embarked on fencing of
the entire school premises to safeguard the school and stop their
pupils from moving outside the school premises during school hours.
In his remark, the Transition Committee Chairman for Nnewi South Local
Government Area, Mr. Chieloka Okoye, who laid the foundation stone of
the class room block described it as evidence of Honourable Ozobialu’s
quality representation and thanked Governor Obiano for releasing funds
for the constituency project. 


In their separate speeches, the Head Teacher of the school, Mrs.
Dorothy Okonkwo and the Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Osumenyi
Development Union, Mr. Elobuike Ojiego commended the benefactor for
meeting the most pressing need of the school, adding that the
constituency made the right choice in him.
