An ultramodern orphanage and helpless people’s home built and furnished by the founder of Tonimas Nigeria Limited, the Late Dr Anthony Enukeme has been inaugurated.


The event which took place at Ugwudunu village Neni in Anaocha local government area attracted people from all walks of life.


The orphanage home, Trinitarian Foundation for Orphans and the Helpless, founded seven years ago by Mother Mary-Agatha Ebewu has about twenty children in their care.


Inaugurating the facility, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor called for proper upbringing of the children as future leaders.


Bishop Ezeokafor, who also noted that proper training is what makes a child urged the caregivers to be careful of the kind of training they give the children especially now that they are young in order not to mar their future.


He also charged the orphanage home caregivers to take good care of the children left in their care and to see it as working for God and humanity.
On how the home operates, the founder of the foundation, Mother Mary-Agatha who said that the children in their care are usually sent by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Children and Women Affairs noting that for anyone who wishes to have any of the kids must go to the ministry and fulfill their requirements.


Mother Mary-Agatha also thanked the family of the late Dr Anthony Enukeme urging members of the society to be responsive in raising the children as they are gifts to the world.


In her address, the Sister in charge of the home, Reverend sister Mary-Pia Okafor who was visibly in tears over the demise of their benefactor, the late Dr Enukeme listed some of the challenges of the home and solicited more support to enable them pull through and cater for the children.
She also appreciated the Enukeme family even as she prayed God to bless them.


Speaking on behalf of the Enukeme family, Mr Chike Enukeme said that they will continue to support the orphanage home from where their late father stopped.


Some of the people present at the commissioning were Mr Tochukwu Muomah, who handled construction of the new home and Chief Raphael Azolo of Radopin Supermarket Awka.


They praised the late Dr Anthony Enukeme for his magnanimity calling on other well meaning individuals to emulate him.


The event witnessed the official inauguration of the two storey building, installation of the holy Eucharist in their new chapel, cultural displays by the children, donation of gift items to the orphanage home and cutting of cake.
