It was a time for sober reflection when late Sir Michael Anagor, a grassrot political leader was buried in his country home in Awka, Awka South Local Government Area.
Correspondent Kenechukwu Chukwudi covered the burial ceremony and reports that the late Michael Anagor, who hails from Umudioka village, Awka, Awka South Local Government Area was known as a grassrroot leader, who related with all and sundry, and later became a Deputy Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area and also worked at the defunt Anambra State Environmental Sanitation Authority, as an Administrative Officer.
In a sermon, during his burial service, Reverend Azubuike Mgbikeh, Vicar of Our Saviour Anglican Parish, Awka, who focused his sermon on “repentance and end time,” advised Christians to live life according to God’s teachings, keep away from sins and make conscious efforts to align in the ways of Christ.
Speaking to the ABS, a younger brother to the deceased, Mr. Umeadi Anagor, said his brother died after two days illness and described him as a loving man who fought for people’s right praying God to accept his gentle soul in his bosom.
The eldest son of the deceased, Mr. Stanley Anagor, remarked that his late Father was a God fearing man, who stood by the truth at all times and actively participated in Church activities, promising to uphold his legacies while his daughter, Jennifer Anagor said his father was a family man to the core, a peacemaker and very hardworking . also speaking, Barrister Nnamdi Anagor, a cousin, said his humility, gentleness and unique approach in handling issues will be mostly missed The late Anagor died at the age of seventy one years.
Condolence visits by family, friends and well wishers, including political stalwarts featured during the burial ceremony.
