As the Nation marks it’s sixtieth independence anniversary on October 1, some stakeholders are still optimistic that Nigeria will soon get to her desired destination.


The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, the Member representing Anaocha Two Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Chief Ejike Okechukwu and the Traditional Ruler of Amawbia, Igwe Chinyere Muolokwu in their separate responses were optimistic of a better Nigeria.


The Social Media has become a major platform for opinion formation and as Nigeria drew closer to her independence anniversary, several Nigerians took to Twitter, one of the biggest social media platforms in usage in Nigeria to ruminate over the journey of the Giant of Africa.


Even though many expressed hope that Nigeria is in journey of greatness, many others showed disappointment with the little achievements the country has made in the past six decades.


However, Bishop Ezeokafor believes that even though many things seem not to work the way Nigerians want, Nigeria is on track to the right direction.


The Catholic Bishop prayed for the leaders and the led in Nigeria and noted the need for leaders to go the extra mile to do more.


Hon Okechukwu on his part urged the citizens not to write off the country as there is no other place to call home and assured that the Anambra State House of Assembly will continue to make laws that will guarantee the prosperity of Ndi Anambra and other residents in the State.


On how traditional institution involved youths in decision making in communities , the traditional ruler of Amawbia, Igwe Muolokwu said in his community youths have been appointed as cabinet members and representatives of the community at different levels and explained that when youths are given better opportunities in governance, they produce mind blowing and better results.
