Government /IFAD VCDP, Mrs. Fatima Buhari-Mukhtar, is in Anambra State
for a-two-day implementation support visit.
Mrs. Buhari-Mukhtar, who was received at the Amansea border by a team
from the ministry of Agriculture, later paid a courtesy call on the
Anambra State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mechanization, Processing
and Export, Mr. Nnamdi Onukwuba.
Let’s join our Agric correspondent Ebele Ezeh reports that while  speaking during the courtesy call, Mrs. Buhari-Mukhtar announced that the visit was aimed at soliciting for continued implementation of Federal Government /IFAD VCDP in Anambra State.

Buhari-Mukhtar assured that the visit would be spectacular.In his speech, Mr. Onukwuba while describing the visit as an eye
opener, said it will aid in budgeting process and scale up the
activities of the Anambra State FGN/IFAD VCDP to the highest position
at the national and international levels.
He advised the state farmers to tap into the visit to boost
their farming activitiesThe chairman, Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Agriculture
and member representing Awka North Constituency, Honourable John
Nwokoye disclosed that they are working on the cluster farming
recently introduced by Governor Willie Obiano to empower the state
youths and appealed to Mrs. Buhari-Mukhtar to assist the state in
improving the Agric sector.
The State Programme Coordinator, FGN/IFAD VCDP, Mr. Nnamdi Agwuncha,
listed familiarization with the new Market and Enterprise Development
Advisor, getting feedback on the effects of COVID-19 on VCDP
beneficiaries for onward intervention and assessing the level of
compliance on environment and safety measures within the processing
centers among numerous others as reasons for the visit
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Mrs. Stephanie
Keri-Uzor was present during the visit.
