The Nwokoye family of Obeagu Orji Village Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka local government area, has accorded their Father, Late Chief Gabriel Ilodiuba Nwokoye, final Burial rites.

Staff reporter, Emengini Osadebe, reports that the event attracted friends, well wishers, different dance troupes and masquerades, which came from far and near to pay their last respects and condole with the family.

In his homily during a burial Mass at his compound, a visiting priest from Enugu Catholic Diocese, Reverend Father Collins Ozoani, advised the people to stand firm in their faith just as the Late Chief Nwokoye, who served as a Catechist.

Reverend Father Ozoani admonished Christians to know that the life God gave them is for a purpose and should be used for the service of God and Humanity.
The ABS family ably represented by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Chief Uche Nworah said they came to identify with their own, Mrs. Nonye Nwokoye over the demise of their father and father in-law, urging them to bear the lose and be at peace with one another.

In their separate speeches, the sons of the deceased, Honorable Francis and Mr. Steve Nwokoye said their father lived a life worthy of emulation as he served the community meritoriously as a teacher, Catechist and Secretary General describing him as a caring father, whose legacies would be developed on.

The daughter’s in-law, Mrs. Susan and Nonye Nwokoye portrayed their father in-law as a peace maker, a loving father, who lived a good and prayerful life.

One of the family friends, Mr. Sunday Okoroudo, urged them to take solace in the Lord as their father lived a fulfilled life and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss as well as grant them long life like their father.

Highpoints of the ceremony were condolence visits by different groups, dance by Catholic men and women of St Francis parish Enugwu-Ukwu, traditional dance and masquerades display.
