Anambra State Ministry of Health has given Medical assistance to displaced people of Anambra West Local Government Area affected by flood.


The Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala and his rapid response team visited Rex Universorum Hospital, Mmiata, Anam, where they presented the relief materials.
Presenting the Medical supplies, Dr Okpala thanked the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Reverend Sister Sapentia Ameke and her team for their selfless service to the Community assuring them of more assistance from the Anambra State government to enhance their performance.
He noted that the Ministry has established and trained a standard emergency rapid response team in all twenty one local government areas to attend to health matters especially at the flooded communities in Anambra West, Anambra East, Ogbaru and Ayamelum Local Government Areas.


Welcoming the Commissioner and his team, Reverend Sister Ameke, thanked Governor Willie Obiano and, Dr Okpala for coming to the aid of displaced members of the community, noting that the flooding has become yearly occurrence during rainy season in the area.


ABS crew observed that many buildings have been submerged in the area.
Correspondent Onyinye Agubaeze reports that members of the team include the State Director Public Health Disease Control, Dr Uchechukwu Onyejimbe, State Hospital Administrator, Dr Richard Achugbu, Director Medical Services, Dr Ugochukwu Chukwulobilu, Dr Chukwuma Emembohi State Epidemiologist, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Medical Supplies and Equipment, Mrs. Oluchi Onydikachi.
