University of Nigeria Alumni Association, Awka Branch is seeking collaboration with the ABS ahead of its Upcoming Founders’ Day Celebration.
The delegation from the association made the appeal during a courtesy call on the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Uche Nworah in Awka.
Correspondent Amarachukwu Okafor was there and reports that the President, University of Nigeria Alumni Association, Awka Branch, Dr. Ngozi Ulogu during the event sought the support of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, in publicizing the upcoming celebration of the Founders’ Day of the institution by the Awka Branch of the Association.
Dr. Ulogu disclosed that the Founders’ Day has been slated for November 2020 with the theme ,”Post COVID-19 Challenges: The Way Forward”.
She also used the occasion to console Chief Nworah on the demise of his father, the late Pa Edwin Okonkwo Nworah, describing the late patriarch as having lived an impactful life, leaving numerous legacies in the sands of time.
Responding, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Nworah who received the delegation from the association alongside the Head of Television of the ABS, Mrs Ify Unachukwu described the visit as very necessary given the reputation of the institution and assured them of the station’s unalloyed support.
In a vote of thanks, the Treasurer of the Association, Mrs Nkiru Meludu commended Governor Willie Obiano and Chief Uche Nworah for the observable transformation of the Anambra Broadcasting Service.
University of Nigeria Alumni Association Awka Branch, is an umbrella body housing graduates from the institution with the aim of connecting and harnessing the intellectuals of all alumnus of the institution in championing the growth and progress of their alma mater for more development for its students and institution.
