Wife of the Governor of Anambra State and founder of the charity
organization, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE, Dr Mrs.
Ebelechukwu Obiano has assured that the organization would continue to
train more widows, youths, and less privileged women on different
vocational skills so they could attain self-reliance and be able to
fend for themselves and their families.

Dr Mrs. Obiano gave the assurance during her visits to Nnewi North and
South Local Government Areas, in continuation of her 2020 tour of
twenty-one local government areas of Anambra State.

According to the Governor’s wife, CAFE has trained and empowered over
six thousand persons so far and is willing to train more people as way
of getting unemployed youths, widows and less privileged persons fixed
up with skills that would keep them up financially and reduce crimes
and other social vices.

Dr Mrs Obiano who was represented at the visits by the Anambra State
Commissioner for Social Welfare, Children and Women Affairs, Lady
Ndidi Mezue, also restated that the trainees, after successfully
completing their trainings are given start-up equipment and funds, all
free of cost.

Speaking at their respective local government areas, the member
representing Nnewi North at the Anambra State House of Assembly,
Honourable Nonso-Smart Okafor and his Nnewi South Constituency One and
Two counterparts, Honourable Sunny Ozobialu as well as Honourable Johnbosco
Akaegbobi, said that the Governor’s wife’s benevolent disposition  would
remain a model for present and future political class in Nigeria and
Anambra State.

Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Afam Mbanefo, and the
Anambra South Zonal Commander of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra,
OCHA, Brigade, Mr. Emmanuel Obi, observed that CAFE has bridged social
gaps by giving a voice to the poor, redefining charity and empowering
women to have an independent voice.

The Transition Committee Chairmen of Nnewi North Council Area, Prince
Chukwudi Orizu and that of Nnewi South, Engineer Chieloka Okoye,
described Dr Mrs Obiano’s relentless pursuit of charity course as
unforgettable.

The Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on National and State
Assembly Matters, Mrs. Amara Anazodo, that of Chieftaincy Matters and
Community Liason, Mrs Vera-Queen Okonkwo, that of Budget and Project
Implementation, Sir Melie Onyejepu, nonagenarian traditional ruler of
Nnewi, Igwe Kenneth Orizu, among others were present at the visits.

The Governor’s wife as usual gave out palliatives to widows, the aged,
less privileged and physically challenged persons selected from each
of the fourteen towns under Nnewi North and South Local Government
Areas.

Dr Mrs. Obiano shall conclude her tour for this week at Ihiala and
Ekwusigo Local Government Areas, today, Friday, October 16, 2020.
