Stakeholders in the Health Sector says effective and regular  hand washing with soap is  one of the ways to achieve personal hygiene and prevent diseases.

Speaking on the significance of hand washing with soap, the Anambra
State Assembly House Committee Chairman on Health, and member
representing Aguata One Constituency Dr. Cater Umeoduagu said that
regular hand washing with soap is a major aspect of maintaining good
hygiene for a healthy living, stressing the need to create awareness
and remind people to always wash their hands with soap.

Dr. Umeoduagu commended Governor Willie Obiano led administration for
its efforts and commitment to improving the health care delivery
system of the state and called for all hands to be on deck to achieve
good health for all in the state.

On her part, a former National President of OMEP, a global hand
washing and hygiene organization, Dr Mrs. Pat Okeke stated that the
best way of washing hands is washing with soap or ash under running
water, noting that the covid-19 pandemic provides a stark reminder
that one of the most effective ways  to stop the spread of a disease
is hand hygiene especially through hand washing with soap to ensure
better  outcomes beyond the pandemic, calling on parents to inculcate
in their children constant washing of hands from the crèche so that it
will be part of them.

A health worker, Mrs. Chinyelu Chukwuneke who said that hand washing
with soap should be a priority now and in future for healthy living
calling on the society to strive to achieve universal hand hygiene.
