Youths have been urged to shun destruction of property under any guise.

The call was made by the Coordinator, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Aguata Chapter, Comrade Chukwuma Ezeike during a peaceful protests in Aguata local government headquarter against violence.

During the protest the youths were carrying various placards with inscriptions like, “No to violence”, “No more vandalization,” “build the youths build the nation”, “Scatter the youths scatter the nation.”

Comrade Ezeike, advised youths to emulate a peaceful way of protest to avoid been hijacked by hoodlums whose mission was aimed at destruction of public property which may cause untold hardship to the masses.

He said that Aguata youths fully support the #EndSars protest with efforts to stop police excesses, illegal arrests and extra judicial killings of innocent citizens.

Earlier, the Transition Committee Chairman, Aguata Local Government Area, Sir. Eche Eziebe emphasised on the need for Nigerian youths to make their voiced heard in order to bring the desired development to the nation, but warned that the protests in Aguata should be done in a
free from rancour and chaos manner.

Speaking on destruction of property, Sir Ezeibe pointed that most property being destroyed by hoodlums were built by various communities and destroying them would only be to their own detriment.

The Aguata ASATU Youth Leader Comrade Chukwuka Otiocha who called for active participation of youths in governance, beckoned on the leaders not to deprive youths of their future but should strive meet their demands.

The protest earlier started with a meeting on the challenges in Aguata with a view to applying appropriate measures where and when necessary as well as save them from imminent danger.
